I Hate Laundry!

Welcome to Cleaning Confidential! This is where I share my dirty secrets—the habits, quirks, and personal preferences I have when it comes to cleaning. You might think that as the owner of 3rd Hand Cleaning and Painting (3HCP), I love everything about cleaning… but the truth is, I have my struggles too.

So, let’s kick things off with my first confession: I hate laundry.

There, I said it. Laundry is boring, and folding is tedious. Who’s with me? 🙋‍♀️

Despite running a cleaning business, I’ll admit that laundry is not my favorite chore. It’s the never-ending cycle—wash, dry, fold, repeat—that gets to me. And don’t even get me started on folding fitted sheets! Ironically, I’m actually good at folding, but my sheets still end up wrinkled… because, well, they sit in the basket for days before I finally get around to it. 😆

The Battle of Stubborn Stains

While I may not love laundry, I do love a small win—like the satisfaction of removing a stubborn, ground-in stain that just won’t budge. Case in point: I washed a winter coat twice, used stain remover, and still couldn’t get the dirt out. But

with a little extra effort (and a cleaning hack up my sleeve), I finally got the results I was after. 💪

Laundry Hack: Tackling Tough Stains

If you’ve got a stain that refuses to come out, don’t give up just yet! Here are a few tricks I swear by:

✅ Pre-treat aggressively – Let stain remover sit for at least 10–15 minutes before washing.

✅ Scrub it in – Use a soft brush or an old toothbrush to work the stain remover deep into the fabric.

✅ Hot vs. cold water – Some stains (like grease) respond better to hot water, while others (like blood) need cold.

✅ Double down – If one wash doesn’t do the trick, try again before tossing the item in the dryer. Heat can set stains permanently!

What’s Your Least Favorite Chore?

Since I’ve spilled my secret, tell me—what’s the cleaning task you dread the most? Laundry? Dishes? Dusting? Comment below and let’s commiserate! 😆
